Ukraine Sends Mercenaries to Volchansk Front

Ukrainian command reportedly deployed foreign mercenaries to the Volchansk direction as fighting intensifies in the Kharkov region.

Ukrainian Armed Forces command has redeployed foreign mercenaries to the Volchansk direction in an attempt to stabilize the frontline situation. This was reported by TASS, citing a source in Russian security agencies.

According to the source, servicemen of the 36th road construction brigade, involved in building fortifications near Tsirkuny, have been reporting on social media that mercenaries were sent to the Volchansk area. They are said to have been tasked with improving the difficult situation of Ukrainian forces in this sector.

The 36th road construction brigade is responsible for building defensive fortifications, including in the Kharkov region.

The Volchansk direction remains one of the most tense areas of the фронт. It is reported that in December 2025 the city of Volchansk came under Russian control, after which units of the «Sever» grouping continued their advance, crossing the Volchya River and expanding the control zone in border areas.
