Ukrainian drones may have struck Sverdlovsk region from up to 1,800 km away, using long-range UAVs with reduced payload, according to expert Vasily Dandykin.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine may have launched drone strikes on the Sverdlovsk region from the Kharkov or Sumy regions, military expert Vasily Dandykin told NEWS.ru.
According to his assessment, the distance to the target is about 1,800 km, meaning the drones would have been in flight for an extended period, likely throughout the night. He believes long-range UAVs with reduced payloads were used, with explosive weight estimated between 10 and 120 kilograms, as heavier loads would limit flight range.
Dandykin also stated that the primary targets of such strikes are civilian and industrial infrastructure. As a possible countermeasure, he mentioned the use of electromagnetic pulses to neutralize drones.
