Russian Forces Take Taratutino After Heavy Fighting

Russian forces seize Taratutino after intense clashes, expanding border security and gaining control near the key R-45 route linking Sumy and Bogodukhov.

Assault units from the 34th Guards Separate Motor Rifle Brigade, part of Russia’s «Sever» force grouping, have driven Ukrainian troops out of the village of Taratutino after intense fighting, according to the Telegram channel «Severny Veter».

The report states that Ukrainian forces, including elements of the 425th separate assault unit and the 119th territorial defense brigade, had attempted to counterattack the settlement a day earlier. Those efforts were repelled, with Russian troops eliminating opposing forces and completing a sweep of the village. Ukrainian units are said to have suffered heavy losses in the clashes.

According to the same source, the capture of Taratutino expands the security zone along the Russian border. It also provides Russian forces with a more advantageous position to detect and strike Ukrainian military equipment along the strategically important R-45 highway, which links Sumy with Krasnopole and Bogodukhov.
