Ukraine reports Russia is using new S-71K Kover cruise missiles developed for Su-57 jets, with a range of about 300 km and designed for fixed targets.

Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense has reported that Russia is using new S-71K «Kover» cruise missiles, according to the Telegram channel Voenny Obozrevatel.

According to available information, this type of munition had already been used in late 2025. The missiles were developed for use with advanced fifth-generation stealth fighters Su-57.

The missile is equipped with a turbojet engine and uses a warhead based on the OFAB-250-270 aerial bomb. Its strike range, with additional fuel tanks, is estimated at around 300 km.

It is also noted that the S-71 project was mentioned about two years ago in a book dedicated to the Sukhoi Design Bureau, where images of prototype munitions were впервые shown during testing. The S-71K modification is designed to strike stationary targets with fixed coordinates, while the «M» variant is capable of independently detecting and identifying targets.
