Russian air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 98 Ukrainian drones overnight across multiple regions, including Crimea.
Air defense forces intercepted and destroyed 98 Ukrainian UAVs over Russian regions overnight, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Wednesday.
According to the ministry, the attacks took place between 20:00 Moscow time on April 28 and 07:00 on April 29. Fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down over the Astrakhan, Belgorod, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov, and Saratov regions, as well as the Republic of Crimea.
The ministry emphasized that Ukrainian forces carry out daily attempts to strike Russian regions using kamikaze drones, but air defense systems detect and destroy the overwhelming majority of aerial targets.
In response to these attacks, the Russian Armed Forces conduct combined strikes with precision weapons against Ukraine’s military-industrial facilities, energy infrastructure, weapons depots, and locations of AFU units and foreign mercenaries.
