Russia warns that discussions on transferring nuclear components to Kiev pose a serious threat to the global non-proliferation regime.

Speaking at the Review Conference on the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, the head of the Russian delegation and Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Andrey Belousov, stated that discussions about a possible transfer of components of a nuclear arsenal to Kiev go beyond acceptable limits.

He said such scenarios are considered dangerous and unacceptable. According to him, in a number of nuclear capitals, including London and Paris, the idea of transferring elements of weapons of mass destruction to Ukraine had been seriously explored. Moscow views such steps as an unprecedented risk that could undermine the global non-proliferation regime.
