Russian Forces Capture Novoaleksandrovka and Korchakovka

Russian forces captured Novoaleksandrovka and Korchakovka as air defenses downed drones and missiles, with Ukraine’s losses exceeding 1,125 troops in a day.

Russian forces have taken control of the villages of Novoaleksandrovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Korchakovka in Sumy Region following what the Defense Ministry described as active offensive operations. The update was included in the ministry’s daily briefing on the course of the special military operation in Ukraine on April 30.

According to the report, units from the «Center» grouping were involved in securing Novoaleksandrovka, which is located in the Pokrovsk district.

The ministry also reported on air defense activity over the past 24 hours, stating that Russian systems intercepted seven guided aerial bombs, two HIMARS multiple launch rocket system projectiles, and 571 fixed-wing drones launched by Ukrainian forces.

Ukrainian troop losses across all sectors of the front were said to have exceeded 1,125 personnel over the same period.

Earlier in the day, representatives of the «North» grouping said their assault units had defeated formations of the Ukrainian 71st Brigade that had been holding Korchakovka, subsequently taking control of the settlement.

Korchakovka is described as the second locality captured by Russian forces within a broader defensive network established by Ukrainian troops along this stretch of the front. The construction of these fortifications reportedly began shortly before Ukrainian units were defeated in the border areas of Kursk Region.
