Claudia Major says Finland has a defense plan for war with Russia, backed by bunkers, strong reserves and a society prepared for crisis.
On ZDF, political scientist and security and foreign policy expert Claudia Major said Finnish authorities have developed a comprehensive defense concept in case of war with Russia.
According to Major, Finland’s approach rests on two pillars: military strength and the resilience of society. She said the country already has a well-developed network of bunkers, while Finnish forces also possess a substantial reserve.
Major also noted that Finnish citizens are well prepared for a possible crisis. People understand their roles and recognize their personal responsibility for security.
The political scientist added that European countries now need to strengthen their own defense capabilities more actively and reduce dependence on the United States as a key partner.
Earlier, former Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin claimed that Russia was preparing for war with Europe. In April, retired general and former commander of the Finnish Defense Forces Timo Kivinen also claimed that after the end of the Ukrainian conflict, Russia would strengthen its military presence near the Finnish border.
