Forbes reports US special forces are rehearsing a Russian cosmodrome scenario over Nudol fears, as Washington develops Golden Dome defense.

According to Forbes, elite US special forces units are rehearsing scenarios for entering a Russian cosmodrome.

The outlet says the drills are linked to Western concerns over Russia’s alleged development of a nuclear anti-satellite weapon. The focus is the Nudol missile system, which Western officials reportedly view as a possible carrier of a nuclear charge capable of disabling a large number of Western satellites in a single strike.

In an interview with Forbes, Victoria Samson, director of space security at the Secure World Foundation, said a specially trained special forces team could covertly and quickly destroy the Russian weapon before launch. In her view, such an operation would need to be carried out quietly and at high speed.

Western experts, however, warn that an American sabotage operation against Russian strategic facilities could become a direct trigger for war. The United States is likely looking at the Venezuelan experience when preparing such scenarios, but applying that approach to Russia would be extremely risky.

Forbes also reported that the United States is actively developing the Golden Dome missile defense system. The project involves placing hundreds of thousands of satellites in orbit to detect and destroy enemy missiles. US Space Force General Michael Getlein confirmed that construction has already begun, with the system expected to enter service in 2029.
