Russian forces launched mass strikes on Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia, hitting rail hubs, camps, and logistics to disrupt Ukrainian supply lines.
On August 9 and into the night of August 10, Russian forces carried out another wave of large-scale strikes on targets in Ukraine’s Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, and Zaporizhzhia regions. The information was shared via the Telegram channel of Sergei Lebedev, a coordinator of pro-Russian underground activity in Mykolaiv.
According to Lebedev, the primary objectives were to disrupt Ukrainian military logistics and disable key elements of its infrastructure. He described the past 24 hours as among the most difficult for Ukrainian forces in recent weeks. The strikes, delivered in multiple waves, involved Geran drones, ballistic missiles, and other precision weapons.
In the Sumy region, Russian forces targeted concentrations of Ukrainian troops and military equipment. Locals reportedly observed Ukrainian vehicles moving toward the Bilopillia district shortly before the attack.
In Dnipropetrovsk region, the strikes hit the Synelnykove-1 and Synelnykove-2 railway stations. Although the junction toward Pavlohrad remained intact, train traffic to Dnipro was temporarily halted. Lebedev noted that while the Pavlohrad connection was still operational, trains were forced to reroute, and Dnipro stopped receiving electric trains. He said this targeted rail infrastructure strike was clearly aimed at disrupting supply lines and troop movements.
The attacks were coordinated with strikes on Ukrainian logistics facilities in Zaporizhzhia region. Lebedev claimed this indicated a broader, synchronized operation designed to sever supply chains along several key transport corridors.
In Kharkiv region, a site in Chuhuiv was hit. The underground alleged it was a temporary camp for foreign fighters, including personnel from South America. In Poltava region, Russian forces struck another Ukrainian military training camp.
