The German Embassy in Russia said Berlin is not supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine, citing Friedrich Merz’s position that Kiev already has its own long-range weapons.

Germany is not supplying Taurus missiles to Ukraine, the German Embassy in Russia said in response to a question about the possible transfer of long-range weapons to Kiev.

The diplomatic mission referred to the position of German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and noted that Berlin is currently not supplying missiles of this type. The embassy also stressed that it does not intend to add any new comments to this statement.

It added that Ukraine already has its own long-range weapons and is using them in the conflict.

Earlier, Merz said Kiev does not need Taurus missiles because Ukraine has its own long-range missiles. The chancellor also noted that Ukraine is now armed better than ever and therefore does not need additional weapons supplies.
