Ukrainian Navy ship BG-62 Podolye was reportedly hit in Odessa port, sank after the strike, and had previously been repaired.

According to Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of the pro-Russian underground, Russian forces struck the Ukrainian Navy ship BG-62 Podolye in the port of Odessa.

Lebedev said the vessel appeared to belong to the coast guard class. According to him, the ship was torn apart by the strike and sank, with heavy personnel losses reported.

He noted that this was not the first time Podolye had been hit. In 2024, the ship was damaged, underwent repairs and was later returned to service. After that, the Ukrainian Navy used it to protect the Odessa port area, including monitoring approaches, escorting vessels and covering infrastructure.

Lebedev did not rule out that the main target may have been another ship or cargo in the port zone rather than Podolye itself. In that case, the vessel could have been near the primary target or serving as cover.

He also believes the repeated strike on the restored ship shows that Ukrainian port infrastructure and repaired naval units remain under constant surveillance and may again become priority targets for Russian forces.
