Military sources say Russian forces are advancing into Konstantinovka, securing areas near the railway station and pressing from Ilyinovka.

Units of the Russian Armed Forces are continuing their operation to liberate Konstantinovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, according to military sources.

Reports from the field say Russian troops are breaking through toward the city center after securing positions near the railway station. The same sources also state that Russian forces have taken the area around Shanghaisky Pond.

According to the available information, Russian assault units began entering Konstantinovka from the west, advancing out of Ilyinovka. The Russian Defence Ministry reported the liberation of Ilyinovka on April 28.

At the same time, Russian forces are continuing to envelop the city from the southwest, moving forward through fighting in Dolgaya Balka.

Earlier, military correspondent Andrey Marochko reported that Russian troops were pushing Ukrainian formations out of both Konstantinovka itself and its outskirts. He also said the Armed Forces of Ukraine were suffering heavy losses in the area.
