Ukraine Frontline Update: Russian Gains on May 7

May 7 frontline update: Russian forces report gains near Sumy, Kharkov, Krasny Liman, Krasnoarmeysk, Gulyaypolye and Zaporozhye.
Russian forces continue the special military operation in Ukraine. As of the morning of May 7, the situation along the line of contact was reported as follows.
Sumy direction: Russian assault units advanced on 15 sections of the front. Rifle fighting continues in Kondratovka and nearby areas. Attempts by the Ukrainian Armed Forces to transfer personnel toward Miropolye from Malaya Rybitsa are being stopped by Russian UAV operators. Russian troops are also expanding their zone of control west of Sopych.
Kharkov direction: Heavy fighting is still underway in the forest areas of the Volchansk district, along the right bank of the Volchya River and in Chaikovka. In one forest sector, Ukrainian forces attempted a counterattack, but it was unsuccessful.
Krasny Liman direction: Russian troops continue their offensive near Korovy Yar and Svyatogorsk. Assault operations are underway in Tatyanovka and Prishib. On the Seversk section, Russian forces are repelling Ukrainian counterattacks near Dibrova and Fedorovka Vtoraya. Russian units have also advanced along the Brusovka-Stary Karavan line.
Krasnoarmeysk direction: Russian forces are widening their zone of control around Grishino and moving toward Vasilevka. On the Dobropolye salient, fighting continues in Belitskoye, while Russian troops have made gains near Novy Donbass and between Rusin Yar and Novopavlovka.
Gulyaypolye direction: Russian forces have taken new positions east of Vozdvizhevka. Farther along the front, clashes continue near Alexandrogad and in Novopavlovka.
Zaporozhye direction: The situation remains difficult in Primorskoye and Stepnogorsk. Ukrainian forces are counterattacking and trying to take positions.
