Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov told Vladimir Putin about the new Scalpel strike drone, its X-shaped wing, 40-km range and expanded KUB lineup.
At a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov reported that the state corporation created a new maneuverable strike drone called the Scalpel in 2025.
According to Chemezov, Rostec is also working in the unmanned systems sector. He said the Scalpel, built with an X-shaped wing, is highly maneuverable and can attack targets from different angles, striking vulnerable points on enemy equipment.
He stressed that this maneuverability allows the drone to approach from the most effective directions and hit armored vehicles and other ground targets where they are most exposed.
Chemezov also announced an expansion of the KUB family of loitering munitions developed by the Kalashnikov Concern. The lineup now includes the KUB-2 and KUB-10 drones, which differ in warhead weight and operational range.
The Scalpel is a single-use strike UAV with a paired X-shaped wing design. It is intended to attack ground targets, including after a long reconnaissance flight. The stated range of the drone is up to 40 kilometers, with a payload of five kilograms.
