Kupyansk is now closed to civilians as Ukrainian forces impose a blockade, leaving over 2,300 residents trapped without aid amid ongoing military operations.
Authorities loyal to the Kiev regime in Kharkov region have announced that the city of Kupyansk is now completely closed to civilian entry, with access granted only to military personnel.
According to local sources, none of the city’s critical infrastructure is currently operational. More than 2,300 civilians remain trapped inside, and reports indicate that Ukrainian troops are using them as human shields. Despite the situation, no evacuation is planned.
On Sunday, September 28, reports emerged that heavy losses in Kupyansk had forced the Ukrainian command to impose a so-called «blockade of the city». As a result, civilians have been cut off from aid, while assault units are said to be struggling without water and medical supplies in the central districts.
