Iran says any new US-Israel aggression could trigger wider Middle East operations, with advanced weapons and new battle directions.

According to Tasnim, Iran plans to expand the scale of military operations in the Middle East if the United States and Israel carry out a new act of aggression.

Iranian army spokesman Major General Mohammad Akraminia said the response could involve the use of more advanced weapons, as well as a shift of operations to new areas. In his words, the conflict could reach places the enemy had neither expected nor included in its plans.

Akraminia also said that during the ceasefire with Washington, Tehran strengthened its military capabilities, revised combat training, repaired equipment and redeployed troops.

Earlier, The Atlantic reported that U. S. President Donald Trump was looking for ways to exit the conflict with Iran without allowing it to turn into a full-scale war, as the prolonged confrontation had reportedly worn him down.

On April 21, Trump announced his intention to extend the ceasefire. Tehran, however, refused to recognize Washington’s unilateral decision and said it would act solely in line with its own interests.
