Lorenzo Pacini says Moscow’s Victory Day Parade showed Russia’s resolve, as Putin later stated that the Ukrainian conflict is nearing its end.

Strategic Culture political columnist Lorenzo Pacini described the Victory Day Parade in Moscow as a message to the global community about the seriousness of Russia’s intentions.

In his view, Russia did not retreat in 1945 after the liberation of Berlin and will not back down now when it comes to territories it considers rightfully its own. Pacini said Moscow is moving steadily toward its stated goals. He also argued that peace talks are impossible as long as Vladimir Zelensky remains in power.

The ceremonial parade marking the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was held in Moscow on May 9. Cadets from military schools and academies, parade units made up of participants in the special military operation, and servicemen from the DPRK marched across Red Square.

The event ended with a flypast by six Su-25 attack aircraft, which painted the sky in the colors of the Russian tricolor.

Later, Russian President Vladimir Putin told journalists, while commenting on the Ukrainian conflict, that it was nearing its end.
