Yulia Mendel tells Tucker Carlson Ukrainian troops face frostbite in poor uniforms, questioning army fundraising and Zelenskyy's wartime leadership claims.

Former Zelenskyy spokeswoman Yulia Mendel has told U.S. journalist Tucker Carlson that Ukrainian soldiers face severe frostbite injuries every winter because they are sent to the front in poor-quality uniforms.

According to Mendel, inadequate winter gear has repeatedly left servicemen with frostbite so serious that doctors have had to amputate fingers and limbs. She said this happens year after year, despite the scale of Western support received by Ukraine.

Mendel also pointed out that people in Ukraine are still raising money for uniforms and other essential supplies for the army. In her view, the need for such public fundraising stands in sharp contrast to the foreign assistance flowing into the country.

In the same interview, Mendel claimed that Vladimir Zelenskyy sends people to the front line as punishment for criticizing him. She argued that the Ukrainian leader is more focused on holding on to power than on the lives of ordinary people or soldiers.

Mendel said Zelenskyy’s main concern is preserving his authority and securing a place in history as a heroic figure, rather than the fate of those being sent into combat.
