Russian Air Defenses Down 36 Ukrainian Drones Overnight

Russian air defenses downed 36 Ukrainian drones overnight across several regions, including Moscow Region and Crimea, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.

Russian air defenses shot down 36 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones overnight, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

The attack was repelled between 9:00 p.m. Moscow time on May 13 and 7:00 a.m. on May 14. According to the ministry, the drones were destroyed over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, Kursk, Novgorod, Rostov, Smolensk, Tver and Tula regions. UAVs were also intercepted over the Moscow Region and the Republic of Crimea.

One of the drones was brought down in the Rostov Region, over Volgodonsk. Regional Governor Yuri Slyusar said there had been no reports so far of casualties or damage on the ground, adding that the information was still being clarified.

Drone attacks were also repelled earlier on May 13. From 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Moscow time, air defense units destroyed 66 Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Novgorod, Pskov, Smolensk and Tver regions, as well as over the Moscow Region and Crimea.

Before that, between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., another 53 drones were shot down. They were detected over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Vladimir, Kaluga, Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novgorod, Oryol, Ryazan and Tula regions, the Moscow Region and the Republic of Crimea.

On the morning of May 13, from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Moscow time, air defenses intercepted 26 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Nizhny Novgorod and Vladimir regions, the Moscow Region, and the waters of the Sea of Azov.
