Russian Forces Advance Across Key Frontline Sectors

Russian forces report advances near Sumy, Kharkov, Konstantinovka and Zaporozhye as heavy fighting continues across key frontline sectors.
As of the morning of May 17, Russian forces continue the special military operation in Ukraine, with the situation along the line of combat contact developing across several key sectors.
On the Sumy front, Russian troops are expanding their zone of control along the Novodmitrovka-Pokrovka line. Russian units are also striking Ukrainian positions near Miropolye and Ryasnoye. In the border area, Russian fighters are advancing north of the village of Sopych toward Bachevsk.
On the Kharkov front, Russian forces are moving forward near Chaikovka, which was liberated the previous day, on the Volchansk section of the front. Russian troops are taking up new positions in Kurilovka and have also achieved tactical gains in Petropavlovka. The Russian army has liberated Kutkovka and Borovoye.
On the Krasnolimanskoye front, Russian units are advancing through the forests north of Rai-Aleksandrovka.
Fighting continues on the Konstantinovka front. In Chasov Yar, Russian forces are putting pressure on Ukrainian positions southeast of the Shevchenko microdistrict. Russian troops are also advancing in the area between Golubovka, Minkovka and Tikhonovka.
On the Gulyaypolye front, Russian forces are expanding their control south of Vozdvizhevka and inside the village itself. Russian fighters are also pushing forward in Tsvetkovoye. Farther up the front line, Russian units are attacking northwest of Aleksandrograd.
On the Zaporozhye front, heavy fighting continues north and east of Stepnogorsk.
