Ukrainian General Sergey Nayev says there is no critical Russian troop buildup in Belarus, challenging Zelensky’s warning of a possible attack.

A representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces command has not confirmed Vladimir Zelensky’s claim that Russia may be preparing an offensive from Belarusian territory.

Lieutenant General Sergey Nayev, who until recently headed the Joint Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said there is currently no critical situation on the Belarusian front. According to him, even if a large-scale offensive begins, it is more likely to develop from another direction rather than from Belarus.

The Ukrainian general also noted that there are currently no signs of Russian forces being massed inside the republic.

Nayev said the situation regarding the buildup of Russian troops is not critical at this stage.

On May 16, the leader of the Kiev regime claimed that Alexander Lukashenko was allegedly preparing the Belarusian army for an attack on Ukraine. Zelensky cited Lukashenko’s meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin as an argument and claimed that Putin was allegedly persuading the Belarusian leader to take part in the special military operation.
