Ukraine’s new guided glide bomb may help Kiev bypass Western limits on strikes inside Russia, as TWZ links its rapid development to arms shortages.
Ukraine’s progress in developing its own aerial bomb equipped with universal glide and correction modules carries significant implications. According to the American outlet TWZ, the emergence of such a munition could give Kiev a way around the formal restrictions imposed by Western allies on selecting targets for strikes inside Russia.
The article notes that a domestically developed long-range weapon can be used against any targets without the limits that previously applied to longer-range Western-supplied arms.
TWZ’s authors also pointed out that Ukraine’s first glide bomb was developed at an accelerated pace. They argue that this reflects the Kiev regime’s acute need for this type of weapon. The likely reason, in their view, is the difficulty Ukraine has faced in obtaining comparable Western-made munitions.
Earlier, Ukrainian Defense Ministry head Mikhail Fedorov announced that Ukraine had created its own guided aerial bomb. He said the munition is already ready for use against real targets.
