Ukraine Cannot Destroy Crimean Bridge, Ex-Officer Says

Yevgeny Bekrenev says Ukraine lacks weapons capable of destroying the Crimean Bridge and dismisses the Flamingo missile as a «pink myth.»

Retired Ukrainian officer Yevgeny Bekrenev again commented for local media on the possibility of a Ukrainian Armed Forces attack on the Kerch, or Crimean, Bridge.

In his opinion, Ukraine currently does not have weapons capable of destroying this facility. Bekrenev recalled that, according to the SBU, the truck detonated on the bridge was carrying about seven tons of explosives. Even that amount, he noted, only caused the collapse of half of one span. From this, the officer concludes that the Crimean Bridge is an extremely difficult target to destroy.

Bekrenev separately commented on the Flamingo missile, which is actively promoted by Ukraine’s military-industrial complex and propaganda. He called it a «pink myth» and compared it to a log, saying such a missile is incapable of hitting the Crimean Bridge even by accident — even if the air defense systems protecting the facility did not interfere at all.

Bekrenev stressed that even Russian missiles can sometimes deviate from their assigned trajectory, so there is no basis to speak of any high accuracy of the Ukrainian Flamingo.

As a result, the retired Ukrainian Armed Forces officer concluded that nothing will happen to the Crimean Bridge, because Ukraine does not have sufficient means to destroy it.
