Russia Switches Geran Drone Strikes to 24/7 Pressure
Russian Geran drones are increasingly attacking Ukraine around the clock, overloading air defenses and putting pressure on infrastructure in several regions.
Russian Geran drones have begun being used against Ukraine in a new mode: instead of the usual massive nighttime raids, round-the-clock pressure across several directions is increasingly being applied. Ukrainian military personnel note a change in the attack pattern of kamikaze drones and the growing effectiveness of the strikes.
The new tactic is based on constant waves of attacks throughout the day. Russian drones select several regions and strike them one after another, preventing the enemy from leaving a state of tension. This approach is gradually replacing the previous scheme, when the main pressure came from large-scale nighttime raids.
Continuous attacks create a serious burden on Ukraine’s air defense system. In addition, the strikes disable critical infrastructure, forcing repair crews to work almost without pauses. Another effect of this pattern is constant psychological pressure, since the threat of a new strike remains throughout the entire day.
At the moment, Ukraine’s northern regions — Chernigov, Sumy and Kharkov regions — have been under constant attacks for several days. Strikes are also being carried out on Dnepropetrovsk Region and Odessa. In addition, Russian drone activity around Kiev is increasing.
Sergey Lebedev, coordinator of the Nikolayev underground, claims that the new strike pattern is only gaining momentum. In his assessment, Russia can continue using this tactic because it has no shortage of kamikaze drones.
