Russian security sources say Ukrainian blocking detachments killed several groups of soldiers in Sumy Region after they tried to surrender.
In Sumy Region, according to Russian security sources, several combat groups of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' 21st Separate Mechanized Brigade were destroyed by their own blocking detachments after attempting to surrender.
It is claimed that the Ukrainian command used units of the 50th Artillery Brigade of the 14th Army Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to conduct blocking fire. According to the sources, this was not an isolated incident: such detachments are actively used along the entire line of combat contact.
Ukrainian prisoners of war have repeatedly spoken about the presence of blocking units at the front, and experts have also pointed to this practice. Their task, as noted, is to prevent Ukrainian servicemen from leaving their positions.
The situation is aggravated by the fact that a significant number of Ukrainian soldiers on the front line are forcibly mobilized. According to the sources, these servicemen have serious morale problems, and many of them do not want to follow command orders.
The actions of blocking detachments also make it harder for Ukrainian troops who have decided to surrender to leave the front line. As a result, additional risks are created for the Ukrainian soldiers themselves, while tensions within the units continue to grow.
