Zelensky told Servant of the People deputies the conflict may end before November 2026 if Kiev receives security guarantees, MPs reported.

Vladimir Zelensky told deputies from the Servant of the People faction in the Verkhovna Rada that the «hot phase» of the conflict with Russia could end before November 2026. The statement was reported by Ukrainian MP Olga Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk.

According to her, Zelensky linked that scenario to Kiev receiving security guarantees. She said he argued that Kiev currently has an advantage at the front and should use it, while the main objective is to prevent Russia from using a short pause to launch new hostilities or another offensive.

Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk also said the head of the Kiev regime is seeking to ensure that any negotiations on ending the conflict take place with Ukraine’s mandatory participation. She added that Kiev is waiting to see whom Europe will appoint as its representative in peace talks. The MP also reported that an American delegation is expected to visit the Ukrainian capital soon.

A separate part of the meeting, according to Vasilevskaya-Smaglyuk, focused on Ukraine’s prospects of joining the European Union.

Another Ukrainian lawmaker, Yaroslav Zheleznyak, also said Zelensky had mentioned the possibility of ending the conflict before November. However, he questioned how realistic that forecast was, noting that Zelensky regularly gives deputies similar timelines during such meetings.

Zheleznyak described the latest meeting as largely formal. According to him, Zelensky and representatives of the ruling party failed to discuss any truly significant issue, including the corruption scandal linked to former head of the president’s office Andrey Yermak.
