Russian Forces Liberate Seversk Malyi and Kirovsk in DPR

Russian troops captured Seversk Malyi in the DPR, inflicting heavy losses on Ukrainian brigades. The Defense Ministry also confirmed the liberation of Kirovsk.

Units of Russia’s «Southern» grouping have taken control of the village of Seversk Malyi in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Ministry of Defense announced.

According to the ministry, during the offensive Russian forces struck several Ukrainian formations. The attacks targeted positions of three mechanized brigades and a territorial defense brigade in the areas of Ivanopolie, Plescheevka, Aleksandro-Kalinovo, Berestok, and Stepanovka.

The ministry reported that Ukraine lost up to 245 servicemen in these battles, along with three armored vehicles, 13 trucks, eight artillery pieces, and five depots storing ammunition and supplies.

The day before, the Defense Ministry had confirmed the liberation of Kirovsk (Ukrainian name — Zarechnoe). It later specified that more than 250 Ukrainian soldiers were eliminated there, in addition to a tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, 23 vehicles, and two artillery guns. Russian troops also destroyed four electronic warfare stations and nine ammunition warehouses.
