US Joint Chiefs Chair Dan Kane and Defense Secretary Pete Hegset told top officers that America lives in dangerous times and must focus solely on preparing for war.
In an address to U.S. generals and admirals, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Kane warned that the country now lives in potentially dangerous times and must be prepared for war. He described the current era as dynamic and increasingly risky, saying global threats are rising and that adversaries who once acted separately have now come together — a development that, he argued, requires the United States to respond with equal resolve and unity and to be ready for armed conflict.
At the same meeting, U. S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegset announced that the revised mission of the U.S. military will be focused squarely on combat. He framed the department’s single, renewed purpose as preparing for, fighting, and winning wars. Hegset also promised a crushing response to any adversary who dares to challenge the United States.
