Vladimir Zelensky says Ukrainian intelligence has reported that Russia is preparing a new massive strike on Ukrainian cities and communities, urging partners to supply anti-ballistic systems.

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky said that, according to intelligence reports, Russian forces are preparing a new massive strike on Ukraine. The corresponding message was published on his official Telegram channel.

Zelensky conveyed this information to Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker during a meeting. According to the Ukrainian leader, he informed the Austrian chancellor about intelligence data indicating that Russia is allegedly preparing another massive attack on Ukrainian cities and communities.

Zelensky also stressed that Kiev’s partners should respond jointly to such strikes. In his view, this should primarily involve supplying Ukraine with systems to counter ballistic missiles.

Earlier, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported that on the night of May 24, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a massive strike on military command facilities, air bases and enterprises of Ukraine’s defense industry. The ministry said that ballistic Oreshnik missiles were also used in the attack.

Ukraine claimed that the Oreshnik strike hit Kiev Region. Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev called the attack a response to a Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on a college in Starobelsk.

On May 27, the French newspaper Le Monde wrote that Russia prepares massive combined strikes on Ukraine in advance, while Ukrainian and American intelligence services learn about such attacks roughly a week before they are carried out.
