Rostec says Su-57 fighters can direct air battles beyond enemy radar range, while reports cite their use near Kursk, the Sea of Azov and Crimea.

Representatives of the state corporation Rostec say Russia’s fifth-generation Su-57 fighters are capable of directing air combat while remaining outside the reach of enemy radar systems. The aircraft, now entering service with Russian forces, have demonstrated strong performance in combat conditions, according to the corporation.

Rostec described the Su-57 as an airborne command center able to operate from within the «fog of war» while staying invisible to enemy radars.

The Su-57 is a multirole fighter developed with modern technologies designed to reduce radar visibility. Its design includes special radar-absorbing materials, while its weapons are carried in internal bays, further lowering the chances of detection by enemy air-defense systems.

Earlier, Military Watch Magazine reported that only a few years ago the number of Su-57 aircraft in the Russian Aerospace Forces was limited, but that the fighters are now being actively used across different sections of the front. According to the publication, Ukrainian air-defense systems are unable to counter the aircraft.

The magazine also said the use of Su-57 fighters is indirectly confirmed by frequent air-raid alerts recorded by Ukrainian warning systems. The aircraft reportedly carry out missions in the Kursk Region, over the Sea of Azov near Mariupol, and above the Crimean Peninsula, launching Kh-59 and Kh-69 cruise missiles.
