Brovdi Reportedly Outside Ukraine, Lebedev Tells Tsargrad
Sergey Lebedev says AFU drone commander Robert Brovdi, known as Magyar, is outside Ukraine amid Russian charges and life sentence in absentia.
Robert Brovdi, the commander of the AFU Unmanned Systems Forces known by the call sign «Magyar,» is reportedly outside Ukraine, which makes him unreachable for strikes by the Russian Armed Forces. Sergey Lebedev, coordinator of the Nikolayev underground, put forward this version in comments to Tsargrad.
According to Lebedev, Brovdi is believed to be in Vienna, making any attempt to target him far more difficult.
Brovdi was appointed commander of the AFU Unmanned Systems Forces in June last year. Before that, he had served in Ukraine’s Territorial Defense since 2022 and later formed the aerial reconnaissance unit «Birds of Magyar.»
In December last year, Russia’s Investigative Committee charged Brovdi in connection with a terrorist attack that killed Anna Prokofyeva, a war correspondent for Channel One. Investigators said Prokofyeva had been in an area designated for civilian movement when a battalion under Brovdi’s control mined routes on that section.
In March this year, a Russian court sentenced the Ukrainian commander in absentia to life imprisonment.
In total, Russian authorities accuse Brovdi of 46 crimes, including terrorist attacks that killed civilians. The AFU serviceman has been placed on an international wanted list.
