Experts warn that Ukraine may attempt another strike on the Crimean Bridge, targeting air defense systems and patrol ships protecting the strategic transport route.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) may once again attempt to disable the Crimean Bridge, a key transport artery of the peninsula, according to MK. Previous attempts to strike this target have been made several times, but the group responsible for its protection, including long-range S-400 air defense systems, short-range Pantsir-S complexes, as well as naval forces and border service vessels, has so far successfully defended it.
Military expert Boris Rozhin highlighted UAF actions during the latest raid on June 4. According to him, the attack on the border patrol ship Project 10410 «Svetlyak,» along with footage circulating online of a Ukrainian drone striking a mock-up of the Pantsir system, may indicate preparations for a new combined attack on the Crimean Bridge. Rozhin believes the opponent is attempting to weaken the air defense systems and the border ship group covering the bridge.
A similar assessment was given by an analyst from the «Voenny Osvetitel» resource. He noted that Ukrainian forces continue striking air defense systems in Crimea and ships involved in guarding the bridge. According to the analyst, with logistical challenges through the R-280 land corridor via newly controlled territories, Kyiv could attempt to damage the bridge again to create further complications.
The question of how to respond to these threats remains critically important. The Russian General Staff is expected to have a plan that fully accounts for timing, which currently appears to favor Kyiv. The number of Ukrainian drones attacking Russian regions daily is not decreasing, while statements by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, President Volodymyr Zelensky, and other Kyiv representatives are becoming increasingly audacious.
