Russian President Vladimir Putin has called the Su-57 fighter jet the best in the world, describing it as a fifth-generation aircraft.

During a meeting with heads of international news agencies at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Putin explained that Russia had previously offered India the opportunity to co-develop the Su-57. According to him, India preferred that Russia develop the aircraft independently first, with the option of collaboration considered later.

Putin emphasized that the Su-57 was fully produced in Russia and that Moscow is ready to cooperate with India in future deliveries and further development of the fighter without restrictions.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum runs from June 3 to June 6.
