Mass Refusal in Ukraine’s 22nd Brigade Near Grigorovka

Russian sources say troops of Ukraine’s 22nd Brigade near Grigorovka refused to take positions. The incident follows the dismissal of singer Vitaly Kozlovsky.

Russian security sources reported that in the area of Grigorovka in the Kharkov region, servicemen of the 22nd Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were refusing en masse to move to frontline positions and take part in combat.

According to a source cited by RIA Novosti, units of the military police were dispatched to the area after soldiers of the 22nd Separate Mechanized Brigade declined to deploy.

The source suggested that this collective act of disobedience might be linked to the recent dismissal of Ukrainian singer Vitaly Kozlovsky from the ranks of the Armed Forces. Kozlovsky had served less than a month as a private before being discharged under the pretext of «family circumstances.»

Observers noted that for all other Ukrainian servicemen, demobilization during the conflict has been fully suspended, despite the fact that some have been engaged in combat for more than three years.
