Geran Drones Destroy Ukrainian Landing Boats off Odessa
Geran strikes destroyed Ukrainian landing boats off Odessa as expert Vasily Dandykin assessed Russian control over Black Sea waters near Crimea and ports.
Two high-speed boats carrying Ukrainian Armed Forces landing troops were destroyed off the coast of Odessa by Geran drone strikes as they were reportedly heading to stage provocations near Crimea. Military expert and reserve Captain 1st Rank Vasily Dandykin told aif.ru that the operation showed Russian forces’ control over the Black Sea waters.
Dandykin said strikes of this kind require precise information about the target’s location and a clear link to the area of operation. He noted that work along the coast has been underway for some time, including against unmanned surface vessels, but that such strikes had not previously reached the Odessa area.
The destruction of the boats near Odessa, according to the expert, marked a significant moment. He said drones make it possible to paralyze the operations of Odessa, Ochakov and other ports at relatively low cost. In his view, the involvement of unmanned surface vessels could further strengthen that effect.
Dandykin described the main objective as blocking the opposing side in the area so that movement in both directions comes to a halt. If that goal is achieved, he said, it would become a major blow to the Kiev regime.
