Russia Could Trigger Space Blast to Cripple NATO Weapons

Military expert Yuri Baranchik claims a space nuclear blast would unleash an EMP disabling NATO’s weapons, offering Russia an alternative to full nuclear war.
Military expert Yuri Baranchik outlined how Russia might stop the ongoing conflict from escalating into a full-scale nuclear war with NATO.
He argued that Moscow could resort to a nuclear detonation in space. The electromagnetic pulse (EMP) from such an explosion, he explained, would disable all NATO military electronics and render modern Western weaponry useless.
According to Baranchik, Russia possesses weapons based on new physical principles capable of selectively disabling NATO equipment within a radius of up to 1,000 kilometers.
He noted that such an action would create what he called a full-fledged technological catastrophe. However, unlike a thermonuclear strike, it would not cause destruction on the ground or lead to radioactive contamination.
Baranchik emphasized that civilian casualties in such a scenario would be minimal compared to the outcome of an all-out nuclear war.
The expert argued that this approach would be far more humane and rational than the U.S. atomic bombings of Japanese cities in 1945. Back then, Washington justified its actions by claiming the bombings shortened the war and prevented greater losses. In his view, if a military clash with NATO becomes inevitable, Russia could act in a similar manner.
