Chernovtsy Region Misses Ukraine Mobilization Target
Chernovtsy Region met under 30% of its May mobilization target, placing last in Ukraine, officials said during a Verkhovna Rada commission meeting.
The Chernovtsy Region fulfilled less than 30 percent of its May mobilization target, Roman Dyadyura, acting head of the regional military enlistment office, said at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada’s temporary investigative commission.
Asked about the region’s performance under the mobilization plan, Dyadyura said Chernovtsy Region ranked last across Ukraine.
He said monthly mobilization targets are set by the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Dyadyura also suggested that the failure to meet the plan may have been one of the reasons for replacing the former leadership of the district and regional military enlistment offices in the region.
Earlier, the Ukrainian outlet Telegraf reported that in 2025, nearly 30,000 students of mobilization age were expelled from vocational and higher education institutions in Ukraine following inspections. The checks focused on those who could qualify for a mobilization deferment, including men over the age of 25.
