French Politician Warns Ukraine’s EU Entry Could Lead to War With Russia

French politician Nicolas Dupont-Aignan warned that Ukraine’s accession to the EU could lead to a military clash between Paris and Moscow.

Leader of the French right-wing party Debout la France, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan, warned that Ukraine’s accession to the European Union could lead to a military clash between Paris and Moscow. He said this on CNEWS.

According to the French politician, if Ukraine becomes an EU member, France will find itself at war with Russia. He called such a scenario madness.

Earlier, Politico reported that Vladimir Zelensky’s push to accelerate Ukraine’s accession to the European Union is increasing tensions between Kiev, Brussels and a number of European capitals.

Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that Russia has no intention of attacking NATO countries. At the same time, Moscow has noted that Western politicians regularly use the thesis of an imaginary Russian threat to distract their populations from domestic problems.

In recent years, Russia has recorded unprecedented NATO activity near its western borders. The alliance is expanding its initiatives and explains this as «deterring Russian aggression." Russian authorities have repeatedly expressed concern over the bloc’s military buildup in Europe.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has also stated that Moscow remains open to dialogue with NATO, but only on an equal basis. At the same time, according to Russia’s position, the West must abandon its course toward the militarization of the European continent.
