Russian Paratroopers Destroy HIMARS in Kherson Region
Russian Dnepr Group paratroopers destroyed a Ukrainian HIMARS launcher and its crew on the right bank of the Dnepr in Kherson Region.
Russian paratroopers from the Dnepr Group of Forces detected and destroyed a Ukrainian HIMARS multiple launch rocket system on the AFU-occupied right bank of the Dnepr in Kherson Region, along with its crew.
The strike was reported to RIA Novosti by a senior UAV operator of the 98th Guards Airborne Division, call sign «Green.»
According to him, the launcher was spotted during a drone flight. Ukrainian servicemen were located nearby. After the target was identified, its coordinates were sent to the command post, and a strike UAV was quickly directed against it.
The serviceman said the attack destroyed both the HIMARS launcher and the crew operating it.
Earlier, in January, a Russian Geran drone destroyed a US-made HIMARS launcher in Chernigov Region.
HIMARS, or High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, is a US multiple launch rocket system developed by Lockheed Martin. It is mounted on a three-axle wheeled chassis and can carry either six rockets or one ATACMS operational-tactical ballistic missile.
