Dmitriev Says Realistic Ukraine Peace Deal Is Ready

Kirill Dmitriev says peace in Ukraine depends on accepting a realistic solution already on the table, as Europe shifts toward a more pragmatic view.

Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian president’s special representative, said in an interview with the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung that the Ukrainian conflict can be settled only through a realistic solution that has already been formulated.

According to Dmitriev, earlier proposals were unrealistic, while the option currently on the table reflects the actual situation. He said that if Ukraine accepts it, peace could come immediately.

Dmitriev stressed that Moscow’s position remains consistent and clear. He also noted that Russia views the shift in Europe’s approach positively, arguing that European countries had previously relied on unrealistic demands. In his view, Europe should continue moving toward a more pragmatic assessment of the situation.

The Russian special representative also recalled that President Vladimir Putin had already set out the Kremlin’s vision for resolving the conflict. Dmitriev pointed out that Vladimir Zelensky himself had spoken about U.S. readiness to provide Ukraine with security guarantees if Ukrainian forces withdrew from Donbass.

In Dmitriev’s opinion, this shows that the Kiev regime clearly understands both Washington’s position and Moscow’s approach.
