Russian Admiral Nakhimov May Have Influenced US Golden Fleet Concept
USC head Andrey Puchkov said the modernized Russian cruiser Admiral Nakhimov may have influenced the US Golden Fleet concept.
Director General of the United Shipbuilding Corporation Andrey Puchkov said at the Fleet-2026 International Naval Salon in Petersburg that the Russian modernized cruiser Admiral Nakhimov may have influenced American approaches to creating naval strike forces. This was reported by TASS.
According to the head of USC, the capabilities of the Russian ship may have forced American military analysts to revise their assessments and may have affected the formation of the concept of the so-called US Golden Fleet. Puchkov noted that the declared characteristics of American TRUMP-class ships largely resemble solutions that have already been implemented on Admiral Nakhimov.
He stressed that the cruiser has undergone large-scale modernization: outdated systems were replaced with modern weapons and equipment. As Puchkov emphasized, as a result, this Russian warship surpasses foreign analogues in a number of parameters.
Admiral Nakhimov is currently undergoing trials, which, according to the head of USC, are proceeding in line with the schedule approved by the Russian Navy. After the checks are completed, the fleet is expected to receive a modern ship capable of carrying out missions anywhere in the World Ocean.
It should be recalled that at the end of 2025, the White House suddenly announced work on creating the American Golden Fleet, which, according to the US leadership’s plan, should include ten state-of-the-art battleships.
