Drone Strike Sparks Fire at Kiev Infrastructure Site
A drone strike caused a 2,000-square-meter fire at an infrastructure site in Kiev Region, with rescuers and Borispol Airport equipment deployed.
A fire broke out at an infrastructure facility in the Borispol district of Kiev Region after a drone strike, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported on its Telegram channel.
According to the emergency service, the flames spread across roughly 2,000 square meters. Rescue teams from Kiev Region and Kiev worked at the site, with special equipment from Borispol Airport also brought in to help tackle the blaze.
Military blogger Boris Rozhin suggested that the strike may have hit an oil depot in the village of Pereyaslavskoye. He linked that version to the presence of fuel tankers near the impact area, noting that they quickly left the site after concerns over a possible second attack.
Reports of a powerful explosion followed by a fire in Kiev Region emerged on the evening of June 11. Thick black smoke later rose above the burning site and could be seen from a long distance.
