Telegram channel “Two Majors” says the August 15 Putin–Trump talks in Alaska won’t end the war, with Russia seeking firm long-term security guarantees first.
The planned August 15 meeting in Alaska between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U. S. President Donald Trump will not mark the end of Russia’s military operation in Ukraine, according to the authors of the Telegram channel Dva Mayora («Two Majors»).
They wrote that hostilities would continue until Moscow receives firm guarantees of its long-term security. The post noted that Russia has taken into account its past experience in dealing with the West, particularly what it sees as repeated violations of previously reached agreements. It also emphasized that Russian forces are maintaining active offensive operations and that plans to secure territories listed in the Russian constitution remain unchanged.
At the same time, the military bloggers suggested that before the conflict concludes, Russia and the United States are likely to hold multiple additional rounds of diplomatic talks.
The authors ended their commentary by stating that, despite mocking reactions to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s position, the war is far from over.
