British Diplomat Says Europe Must Negotiate With Russia to End Ukraine Conflict

British diplomat Ian Proud said Europe should negotiate with Russia to end the Ukrainian conflict, arguing that current Western initiatives do not involve real dialogue with Moscow.

British diplomat Ian Proud said on the YouTube channel Judging Freedom that Europe needs to move toward peace negotiations with Russia in order to end the Ukrainian conflict.

According to him, Western leaders regularly put forward diplomatic initiatives on Ukraine, but these proposals do not involve real dialogue with Moscow. Proud believes European countries should become more actively involved in the negotiation process and seek an end to the conflict, since constant events involving Vladimir Zelensky and attempts to demonize Russia will not bring Europe any result.

The diplomat noted that he sees no serious reassessment of Europe’s approach. In his assessment, European politicians still proceed from the idea that the West is on the path to victory.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow should not take European talk about negotiations seriously until Russia is convinced that such intentions are real.
