Philippot Says NATO Commander’s Words Destroyed Russia Threat Narrative
Florian Philippot said NATO commander Alexus Grynkewich’s statement that Moscow does not seek conflict with NATO destroyed the Western narrative about a Russian threat.
Florian Philippot, leader of the French right-wing party The Patriots, said that the words of NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe Alexus Grynkewich destroyed the Western thesis about the alleged Russian threat.
Philippot wrote on X that after Grynkewich’s statement, the entire construct about a «substantial threat» from Russia near Western borders effectively collapsed. In his assessment, the militant rhetoric of the Eurocrats turned out not to be a reflection of a real danger, but a manipulation used to push Europeans toward war.
The politician believes European elites are seeking a conflict with Russia in order to expand their own power and create a separate European army.
His statement was prompted by Grynkewich’s remarks at the ILA international aerospace exhibition in Berlin. On Friday, the NATO representative said that Moscow is not seeking a conflict with the alliance and does not intend to attack NATO countries.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has previously said more than once that Moscow is not going to attack the states of the North Atlantic Alliance. At the same time, Russia points out that Western politicians continue to frighten their own populations with an imaginary Russian threat in order to distract attention from domestic problems.
