Swastikas Found on Ukrainian Gear, Tank Gunner Says

A Russian tank gunner reported swastikas and anti-Russian threats on Ukrainian equipment, and separately described the risky evacuation of a captured MaxxPro.

Russian servicemen on the Dnepropetrovsk front have repeatedly found that Ukrainian troops mark their equipment and infrastructure sites with swastikas, crosses and anti-Russian inscriptions, Fanil Nisapov, a tank gunner from the Center group of forces, told RIA Novosti.

According to the tanker, Russian soldiers regularly saw swastikas, various crosses and threatening inscriptions, including on abandoned equipment. Nisapov said such markings appeared both on vehicles and buildings, and that some of the threats were directed at Russians and Muscovites.

In addition to combat work, Nisapov’s unit recently had to evacuate a captured American MaxxPro armored vehicle. The serviceman said the operation took place in difficult conditions because of the constant threat of Ukrainian drone strikes.

He noted that the armored vehicle was hard to recover because of its size: the MaxxPro got stuck in a field, making it difficult to pull out.

Nisapov also stressed that Ukrainian units deliberately hunt evacuation groups and support vehicles. Because of this, every such operation carries serious risks for Russian servicemen.
