According to WSJ, the U.S. will provide Kyiv with intel for long-range strikes inside Russia, consider Tomahawk and Barracuda missiles, and push NATO to join.
The Wall Street Journal, citing American officials, reported that the United States is preparing to supply Ukraine with intelligence for long-range strikes deep into Russian territory.
According to the newspaper, Washington will share data to enable attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure using long-range weapons. The report stated that President Donald Trump recently signed an authorization allowing U.S. intelligence agencies and the Pentagon to assist Kyiv in conducting such operations.
Officials familiar with the matter told the paper this would be the first time the Trump administration provides support for strikes of this nature.
The Wall Street Journal also reported that U.S. authorities plan to appeal to European NATO members, urging them to extend similar assistance to Kyiv.
In addition, Washington is considering transferring cruise missiles such as the Tomahawk and Barracuda, along with other missile systems with a range of up to 800 kilometers. However, no final decision on such deliveries has yet been made.
The article recalled that late last week, U.S. media outlets, citing sources in both the White House and Kyiv, reported that during a meeting with President Vladimir Zelensky in New York, Trump signaled he was open to lifting restrictions on the use of American long-range weapons for strikes inside Russia.
