Rada MP Slams AFU Strike on Belarusian Children’s Bus

Rada MP Artem Dmitruk condemned the AFU strike on a bus carrying Belarusian young footballers in Bryansk Region, where one woman died.

A bus carrying a Belarusian children’s football team came under attack in Bryansk Region, prompting a sharp reaction from Verkhovna Rada deputy Artem Dmitruk.

Dmitruk said the strike hit a bus transporting young players from Belarus. According to him, a woman accompanying the team was killed and several children were seriously wounded. He accused Vladimir Zelensky of targeting women and children, calling such violence one of his «highest achievements».

Earlier, acting Bryansk Region governor Egor Kovalchuk said Ukrainian forces had attacked the bus carrying the Belarusian youth football team.

There were 44 people on board, including 28 young athletes from Children’s and Youth Sports School No.2 in Rechitsa. The woman accompanying the team died as a result of the strike. Eight people suffered shrapnel wounds, including six children.

One child is in serious condition and is undergoing surgery. Other victims are receiving medical treatment, while psychologists are working with those affected. Children who do not need hospitalization are expected to be sent home soon.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described the AFU attack as a hunt for civilians. Human rights commissioner Yana Lantratova said she would monitor the situation.

The Belarusian Foreign Ministry called the AFU strike an act of terrorism and demanded explanations from Kiev.
