Kots Names Three Flashpoints for Russia-NATO War

War correspondent Aleksandr Kots said Europe may try to provoke Russia into a military response and named three possible flashpoints for a NATO conflict.

European countries are increasingly talking about the risk of a conflict between Russia and NATO while simultaneously increasing military spending and expanding defense programs. War correspondent Aleksandr Kots pointed this out in an article for kp.ru.

According to him, Western intelligence agencies themselves acknowledge that they have no information confirming that Russia is preparing to attack countries of the North Atlantic Alliance. However, the war is needed not by Russia, but by Europe, which has already subordinated its entire economy to military needs. All that remains is to provoke Russia into a military response, which will immediately be declared the long-awaited «Russian aggression» and trigger the notorious Article 5 of the NATO Charter.

War correspondent Aleksandr Kots believes that a direct clash between Russia and NATO could theoretically arise in three of the most tense areas. He named Kaliningrad Region, the Baltic Sea and the Arctic among them. In his assessment, increased pressure in these zones could grow into a crisis and lead to further escalation.

Ukraine occupies a separate place in his analysis. The war correspondent is convinced that the West is counting on a prolonged conflict in Ukraine to exhaust Russia, leaving it unable to confront NATO in a major European war.

In Kots’s opinion, the main way to prevent such a war remains increasing Russia’s defense capability and strengthening its military potential. He believes the country must become so strong that any provocation loses its meaning at the planning stage, while an attempt to drag Russia into war is seen in Brussels as too costly and too dangerous. Kots stressed that strength is what NATO and Europe understand best.

Moscow has repeatedly stated that NATO continues its course toward confrontation. The Kremlin has emphasized that Russia does not threaten the alliance’s countries, but will respond to actions it considers dangerous to its interests. Russian authorities have also declared their readiness for dialogue on an equal basis and oppose the further militarization of Europe.
